RYAN'S RECOVERY FUND
Ryan got hurt, you helped and he and his family thank you!
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Words cannot begin to convey the heartfelt gratitude we feel for everyone who has supported Ryan on his road to recovery. You have all been so thoughtful, caring and generous — and we are overwhelmed by your beautiful acts of kindness.
Ryan has come a long way since his injury and has worked very hard to achieve each milestone in his recovery. Having been totally immobilized from the neck down and bound to a wheelchair, then walker, then cane is beginning to seem like the distant past. The focus now is to improve his balance, increase his stamina and strengthen all those muscles that have weakened.
Although Ryan will never be 100%, your support has buoyed his remarkable spirit and inspired his dedication to achieve. He has much work in front of him to make this happen but, hey, when you play on a team under Coach Gary Camilleri you become accustom to hard work and dedication. Ryan never gave up while playing a game of hockey and he won’t give up now.
It is so touching and refreshing to experience first hand that even during these very busy times when there aren’t enough hours in the day to do what we want and need, so many people stopped and took a moment to let us know you were thinking of us. For this we will forever be indebted.
Your words of encouragement, goodwill and generosity have been immeasurable. Your compassion and kindheartedness means more to our family than you will ever understand.
From our family to yours with love…
Ralph and Mary Lou Rubino

About Ryan and his Family
While participating in a "just for fun" hockey tournament with friends, Ryan suffered an upper spinal injury and is facing a long road to recovery. Your generous donation of any size will go directly to the Rubino family to help offset the many ancillary past and future costs associated with getting Ryan well again. As a veteran forward of the Bantam Provincial Champion 94 Mississauga Braves, many people know Ryan as a great hockey player — a great player to coach and a great teammate. But hockey is not all that defines Ryan. He is clever and cheerful, thoughtful and caring and, as he has proven, very brave. Ryan is the type of young man you hope your own children choose as a friend.
Ryan's character comes as no surprise to those who know his family. Mary Lou & Ralph are the epitome of caring parents, while his brothers Mike and Nick have proven themselves to be rock solid siblings in supporting Mom & Dad and Ryan throughout this ordeal.
SUPER THANKS to Sick Kids Hospital and Bloorview Kids Rehab Centre

2009-2010 marked Ryan's 5th season as a 94 Mississauga Brave. Although he was not able to participate on the ice, Ryan was no less a beloved teammate and he and his family could be seen cheering from the sidelines throughout the Championship season. GO BRAVES GO!
Thanks, Thoughts & Prayers
Thank you for stopping by and for your kind consideration in making your donation. Please keep Ryan and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
